Job Title: Insulator/Insulator Apprentice
Division: Mechanical
Reports to: Mechanical Coordinator/ Client Site Supervision
Job purpose Comec is looking for a couple of individuals that can man and operate an insulation warehouse for one of our clients. The job would require knowledge of insulation materials and would be working hand in hand with the client daily. Duties would include- sorting material, logging material. Kitting material for work orders, issue material for jobs. Applicants would need to enter data correctly into the client based warehousing system.
Opportunity for the applicant to learn and expand knowledge into warehousing.
The position is a 7 on and 7 off shift. Camp work, 80 hours per shift. OT eligible with approval.
Key Deliverables:
- Knowledge of insulation materials.
- Able to work alone and be productive.
- Good computer skills.
- Forklift training. Or willing to go get before start of work.
- Shipping/receiving/Warehousing background an asset
- SAP experience an asset
- Willing to learn and expand their knowledge into the warehousing industry
Duties and responsibilities - Sort, log and organize material.
- Clean up surplus material yard and warehouse, log surplus for issue to work orders.
- Manage and operate the insulation warehouse in conjunction with the client needs.
- Material storage and procurement.
- Dailly issue of material to trade craft as needed.
- Material tracking and data entry as required.
- Once initial back log is caught up workers will work with onsite warehousing group in other capacities to fulfill their work days.
- Knowledge of insulation materials.
- Able to work alone and be productive.

Qualifications Qualifications include:
- Experience:
- Knowledge of Insulation materials and/or procurement experience
- Warehousing or procurement background.
- SAP experience is and asset, but this can be taught if applicant does not possess.
- H2S, WHIMS, first aid, Fork Lift, site orientations.
- Valid driver’s license

- Safety Certification
- H2S Alive, 1st Aid, TDG, WHMIS mandatory
- Fork lift/bobcat/zoom boom tickets
- Any client specific required courses
- Other courses as deemed necessary
Working conditions - Able and willing to work long hours
- Able to repeatedly lift and load supplies and equipment up to 50 lbs.
- Able to work in northern Alberta weather conditions if required.
Physical requirements Applicant should be able to work long hours at a computer if needed. Able to load and unload material up to 50lbs, work in all weather conditions,
- Ability to regularly handle and lift up to 50lbs.
- Ability to pass a medical fit for work exam
- Ability to pass a pre-access Drug & Alcohol test
